Award-Winning Photography: Showcasing the Human Element in Design Success

I’m happy to share that Inventa, a project I photographed for Owers Warwick Architects (OWA), has secured a significant honour: the Adaptive Reuse into Office award at the Architects’ Journal Retrofit and Reuse Awards 2025.

My role involved helping with the delivery of the photography package, which documented the transformation of the old Argos building into this modern workspace. Capturing the successful execution of the design—particularly the transition of an existing structure into a vibrant new environment—is a key part of my service. Working with the OWA team on projects like this is always a pleasure.

Beyond the Still Frame: Capturing Life and Intent

When we photographed Inventa, we focused on more than just the architecture; we focused on its intended use. To achieve the populated look you see in the final images, we carefully included many people on site. This approach showcases the building in its active use case, demonstrating its success as a collaborative and welcoming environment.

Capturing this kind of dynamic imagery requires expertise that goes beyond a standard photoshoot. I have the skills and expertise to plan and manage a full day of shooting with a group of people, coordinating their movements and placements while meticulously tracking the sun paths and the natural rhythm of the building. This ensures that the final images are authentic, energetic, and truly reflect the design’s benefit to its users—results that many photographers simply aren't able to achieve.
