Photos taken earlier in the year for David Morley Architects LLP at a newly built Church and Community Hub close to London.
Some careful planning for spring sunshine and a few very early starts paid off with this now becoming a 2022 British Construction Industry Awards finalist! This space is inspiring through the mixed uses available & its cros...
Absolutely delighted for them doesn't even sum it up!!!
Architects' Haysom Ward Miller have won a 2022 RIBA National Award with their Stone Cottage in Suffolk. This is HUGE news because out of the thousands of buildings constructed each year, only 29 have won the award this year; even fewer of them residential buildings, so this is really special.
A hugely enjoyable visit yesterday with @boroarc and @inti_construction to see their new space in the heart of Cambridge, replacing a former industrial garage site.
Being born and growing up just around the corner from here, it's fabulous to see the care and attention this terraced house in a conservation area has been given from the design conc...
This week I was delighted for Haysom Ward Miller Architects with the latest award in their list, this time from RIBA in the form of a RIBA East award for 2022!!!
It's been a fascinating journey and a total joy photographing for this lovely lot over the years and I truly value the trust they place in me to photograph their finished buildings & sp...
What a busy afternoon photographing for this wonderful lot at the Cambridge Association of Architects / RIBA East.
A guided walking tour of Eddington in Cambridge with company from local residents, the RTPI and Stanton Williams amongst others. Loved it!
Thanks to everyone who had a hand in organising and making it such an interesting visit.
We kicked off the year yesterday with a (birthday weekend) walk through the streets of London.
Off the train at King's Cross and straight round the back via the Guardian offices to see a sculpture exhibition there I'd wanted to visit. Unfortunately it was closed. That doesn't matter on a day where you have loose plans, as everything becomes exciti...
From the 1960s to the 2020s. O K This one felt pretty special. A full circle moment. This is the grade II listed Seeley Library by James Stirling and has been in the hands of RH Partnership for a phased refurbishment with preservation very much in mind. I was born in Cambridge and apart from heading off to university and a little time in London, I...
Simple House, Cambridge.
Photography really does help architects convey their message!
Really delighted to work with Haysom Ward Miller and the owners of Simple House, Cambridge for the photography which helped them gain a RIBA award, announced today, in the RIBA East's 2021 Award Winners. This house has already won a design & construction award...
Contgratulations on the PhD, Dr Smith 👏👏👏
Steve is a Londoner and he won't let you forget it. We've spent many years wandering the (often less trodden) paths of the city in all seasons and all weathers. This bearded font of knowledge never fails to bring history alive to the places we pass through. He is as inquisitive as he is knowledgeable...

Light on the iconic Jerwood Library, Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
Some of you may know this pathway in to central Cambridge, which enjoys a pedestrian bridge over the River Cam through some stunningly timeless architecture. Here is the Jerwood Library basking in the sunshine, built in 1998 by the fantastic people at Freeland Rees Roberts Architects.
Mantle Business Centres asked for some work-in-progress images of a new office property they have taken on at 9 Hills Road, Cambridge.
These images are really helpful in conveying just how much work goes on behind the scenes to refurbish offices to modern standards. They also wanted a clean looking image for this office exterior - which isn'...
I had the pleasure of photographing this Japanese inspired house for Haysom Ward Miller. The story behind it is a fascinating one, one which challenges our tendency to accept design. Instead of overseeing a proposed structure (the plot they bought came with planning permission), the owners here used their cultural influences and design ideas to set...
Video completed for Palace Green Homes at a former MoD site in Ely.
‘The homes at this development are particularly light and airy inside, with good size rooms and generous storage space, so we felt that it was really important not to clutter them but at the same time, we wanted to show how different types of households could live really comfort...
⛰️ Slightly off the architectural photography path this time but what a path it is!
Up at 5am, on the trail by 5:45, Natalie and I ran an 18k route up Cat Bells, across Maiden Moor and over High Spy before descending through an abandoned slate quarry toward Derwentwater and returning to the trail head along a delightful path beside the water'...
